The Tele-Ride Binding
is guaranteed to perform well given periodic maintenance
and when following these general guidelines:
- When learning,
activate the slide prior to making a turn. Once in the fully-back
position, initiate your turn. As you gain proficiency, you will activate
the slide turn in one fluid motion.
- Rise and slide
to the forward position after completing your turn.
- When skiing ruts,
bumps, or making rapid, short-swing turns, remain in the forward
position.
- Never twist
your rear boot toe when in the fully-back position. While the Tele-Ride
Binding is manufactured to withstand substantial torque, you may fatigue
the rear end-cap assembly.
- Do not attempt
to activate the slide when the Teleboard is extremely flexed, for example,
when riding between tight moguls.
- Set the binding
lock to inactivate the slide. You might want to inactivate the slide
on steep, tight trails where you use jump turns.

Maintenance
The Tele-Ride binding
is made of durable materials that will perform well with seasonal maintenance.
Dirt and grime may
build up on the binding track, reducing the ease with which the slide
moves. For optimal performance, disassemble the binding and remove the
base plate from the track:
- Remove the socket
bolts from the front end cap and the track, then slide the binding plate
off the track.
- Clean the inside
of the binding plate and the track with a mild spray cleaner.
- To further reduce
friction, apply Teflon or a similar spray to the top of track and inside
the binding plate, and polish both parts to a smooth finish. Do not
use oil-based lubricants.
- Reassemble the
parts.
